Degree structure - SSE

The Master of Science "Sustainability, Society and the Environment" (SSE) enables students to deal with the challenges of sustainable development in research and practice.

The programme brings together a diverse group of German and international students from a variety of countries. Through its team- and project-based learning concept, studying the SSE deepens the ability to work in international teams and to develop leadership skills.

The M.Sc. SSE offers a high degree of freedom in designing an individual learning program. In addition to projects, students can choose from a wide range of modules in geography, social and environmental sciences, environmental and resource economics, and sustainable development in coastal zones.

The reform of the M.Sc. SSE has led to some changes which are relevant for the applicants in 2020. The changes of the programme structure and content are listed below.

The module handbook contains detailed information about the offered modules.
